The Tanzanite is a 3-way reference monitor designed for high-end audio and video systems. With a compact 17.5" x 9.5"
x 12" cabinet you can enjoy the virtues of a 3-way design in an enclosure normally reserved for 2-way designs.
With a typical 7" 2-way both drivers are asked to do quite a bit of work by covering a very wide frequency range.
A 3-way reduces the demands on each driver and each unit can be optimized for a more conservative operating range.
The result is wider dispersion and improved power response, yielding a more realistic soundstage and excellent imaging. Distortion
is also lower so you can enjoy greater detail and dynamics.
Voiced to match the Sardonyx center channel, the Tanzanite is also available in a shielded version for placement near
a CRT television.
